BAHS Curricular Clubs
Advanced Placement (AP) Club

AP Club serves to assist students prepare for AP tests by providing weekly study sessions and stress relief activities throughout the year. Students in AP club also coordinate the AP Banquet in the spring to recognize and honor AP students for their hard work and achievements.
American Sign Language Club (ASL Club)

American Sign Language Club (also known as ASL Club) is a place to learn and immerse yourself in deaf culture, both in the classroom and out in the world. We hope to teach the basics of ASL to those who do not know how to sign, assist students with ASL class assignments, play games in a voice off environment, and go to deaf events. We also have plans to sign the national anthem at sporting events, and possibly go on field trips. ASL is a language that anyone can benefit from, so if you are ready to learn, our door will always be open.
Art Club

Art Club will meet Tuesdays from 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Sept. 12. This club plans art exhibits, social experiences and community service projects centered around creating and celebrating visual art.
Business Professionals of America

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is the leading Career and Technical Student Organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology, graphic design, marketing, web design, photography, and other related career fields. Career Association

The Career Association provides chapter members with unique opportunities to develop the JAG competencies through the Plan of Work, where members decide, vote on and plan the activities their chapter will complete provides competitive events designed to stimulate participant involvement and acquisition of JAG’s core competencies. Each student enrolled in BA Job Ready/JAG is also a member of the Career Association.
DECA

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. See Ms. Coffey for more information.
Esports

The Broken Arrow Esports program was created due to the expansion of the Esports industry into high school and colleges. Currently, multiple colleges throughout the nation offer Esports scholarships! To participate in Esports, students must follow the standard athletic requirements of maintaining a passing GPA and be in good standing.
The Esports room is located in Main 108 and houses industry standard PCs, Xboxs and Nintendo Switches. The group participates in the OESL(Oklahoma Esports league) Which Run, Overwatch, League of Legends, Rocket League, Madden, and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Overwatch and Rocket League practices on Mondays and Wednesdays, League of Legends and Madden practice on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Expand your Horizons

Expand your Horizons will meet on the second Thursday of each month during both lunches. The focus of the club is to explore different countries and cultures every month, and speakers from the Exchange Program will share each month.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA)

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is for students that are wanting to grow and develop into strong leaders who can make a difference in their school, homes and communities. See Miss Garza in A204 for more information on being a part of the Ultimate Leadership Experience!
Future Farmers of America (FFA)

FFA is for students who are enrolled in an Agriculture Class at Vanguard. Students in FFA participate in livestock shows, FFA camps and the State FFA Convention.
Literary Lunch Book Club
Sponsor: Jenny Smith
This is an open environment for members to connect with one another through a mutual appreciation for reading. Those participating in the club will not be required to read the same novel. Instead, this book club will focus on reading novels of the same genre or small literature circles with common themes. This club is not only meant to promote learning through literacy, it is also an opportunity for members to expand their knowledge of other peoples, places, and time periods.
Mock Trial
Sponsor: Head Coach Chris Nulf (BAHS) and Assistant Coach Blake Worley (Freshman Academy)
Mock Trial argues court cases in real courtrooms with real judges against other schools around the state. Students act as attorneys and witnesses and learn all aspects of courtroom trial procedure in scored competition. Mock Trial meets on Wednesdays after school in B154 from 3:15 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. The club is open to any student in grades 9-12.
National Honor Society (NHS)
Sponsors: Chris Bailey and Dorene Christiansen
The NHS tenets are scholarship, leadership, service and character. To become a member of NHS students must have a weighted or unweighted GPA of 3.75 or above. Students must also be a member of another club or activity on campus. Members are required to complete service hours each year. We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.
National Speech and Debate Association

The Speech and Debate Team meets everyday after school. Anyone who is interested in improving their speech, competitive acting and debating skills may join. The team competes in 15 events locally, statewide and at the national level. Contact Mr. Walters for more information.
Pen to Paper / Creative Writing

Robotics Club

Robotics Club utilizes the problem based learning model, where students can design, code and build a robot for competition.
Student Council (STUCO)
Sponsor: Christian Welborn
The purpose of Student Council is to promote high standards of leadership, to promote engagement, school pride and enthusiasm among the student body, to propose policy changes as they apply to the student body, and to meet the needs of the student body, faculty and community. Any BAHS student is eligible to attend Student Council meetings. Student Council officers are elected for each grade level during the spring semester of each school year. Thespian Club

Thespian Club is open to all BAHS students who are interested in drama, even if they are not taking a drama class. Thespian Club also provides an opportunity for theatre students to qualify for membership in the International Thespian Society. Meetings will be announced as they are scheduled. Tiger Challenge

The Tiger Challenge goal is to bring kindness and positivity to BAHS. We greet new students, supply necessities such as toiletries, coats and prom dresses, make signs and other encouraging activities
Unified Champions

A community of inclusion.
Unified Champion is a collaborative group of students that values and encourages kids of all abilities and differences to be included and celebrated for their individuality. It also includes students who participate in peer intern classes, and students who help in special Olympics or just students that take the time out of their day to acknowledged our students with exceptionalities.
