District to host Junior Botball robotics competition Dec. 15
Broken Arrow Public Schools elementary students will compete in a Junior Botball robotics competition at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, inside Tiger Field House on the campus of Broken Arrow High School.
Admission is $1 per person and concessions will be able for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Tiger Robotics program.
Through the Junior Botball robotics program, 4th and 5th grade students apply the engineering design process as they learn to write code in “C” language for their robot. Coding provides practice in computational thinking and logical reasoning skills.
In this competition, students will have five minutes to complete a robotics challenge. Students receive a pin for each completed challenge and will receive a trophy if they can complete seven challenges, including a mystery challenge.
For more information about the robotics program, please contact the district’s STEM Specialist Emily Lim at 918-449-5600.
