About the BAPS Foundation

Established in 1992, the Broken Arrow Public Schools (BAPS) Foundation has positively impacted education in Broken Arrow by providing funds for incentive grants to teachers. It has also served to connect the community with the educational process and in the improvement of education.

The success of the BAPS Foundation is dependent upon the financial endorsement of Broken Arrow school supporters, both individuals and corporations.

From the beginning, this support has been clearly evident in the generosity, enthusiasm and participation shown each year.

Tax-deductible donations to help fund teacher/classroom grants and education initiatives are accepted and appreciated.

Individuals and businesses interested in supporting the Foundation may make a secrure, online donation through PayPal or by mailing their donation to Broken Arrow Public Schools Foundation, P.O. Box 2695, Broken Arrow, OK  74013.

Patrons may also support the Foundation through the BA HERO campaign.

The state budget crisis will have a far-reaching impact on the students and teachers at Broken Arrow Public Schools. Decreased funding from the state will likely require the district to cut more than $7 million dollars from the operating budget – a cut that will affect the classroom, as well as instructional programs and services that are provided to our children. Every dollar raised through the BA HERO campaign will help fund instructional programs and services that are critical to our students. BA HERO today!

On behalf of Broken Arrow students and teachers, thank you for your decision to BA HERO!

How does the Foundation operate?
A Board of Directors, representing a variety of businesses, the PTA, the teaching and administrative staff and individual citizens, is elected annually to serve as directors of the Foundation. Currently the Foundation's primary fundraiser is the Annual Education Grant Awards Golf Tournament.

How are funds allocated?
All funds earned during the fiscal year of operation by the Foundation are used in this manner:

50% allocated to teacher grants and instructional programs and services
50% deposited in an endowment fund

How are grants selected?
Teachers in the Broken Arrow School District submit grant applications that will impact the education of Broken Arrow students.

A sub-committee of the Foundation, plus educational personnel not involved in the grant writing or submission process, choose those grants for projects they consider most exemplary. The grants are presented in the spring by members of the Foundation so that plans can be made for implementation of the project.
