Broken Arrow Public Schools has activated the text message feature on SchoolMessenger, the system used to send important parent phone calls and emails.
Parents MUST "opt-in" to receive text messages from the district. To do so, please text “Y” to 67587. Please note that text messages will NOT be utilized to send "emergency" information.
If you opt-in, but later decide to opt-out, simply send “STOP” to 67587 or visit www.schoolmessenger.com/txtmsg.
On Oct. 23, parents/guardians received a text message from SchoolMessenger asking if they'd like to "opt-in." If you did not receive this message, please check with your child's school site to make sure your cell phone number is up to date.
Parents are encouraged to check with their wireless carrier for information about their mobile service plan and any possible charges related to text messaging. Broken Arrow Public Schools does not reimburse for any charges associated with sending or receiving text messages.

Because seasonal influenza (flu) activity most commonly peaks in the winter months, Broken Arrow Public Schools is encouraging staff, students and parents to take the following everyday preventive measures to stop the spread of germs:
The flu is a contagious respiratory illness cause by the influenza virus and can cause mild to severe illness. Symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, fatigue, headache, vomiting or diarrhea.
Students with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher are required to be picked up by a parent and must remain at home until he or she is fever free without medication for 24 hours, per school policy.
Broken Arrow Public Schools continues ongoing communication with local health officials, the Oklahoma Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The district follows instructions from these institutions should a flu outbreak occur this winter.
