Students are encouraged to create Khan Academy account to utilize free tools for SAT Suite of Assessments

Broken Arrow Public Schools has adopted the SAT Suite of Assessments from The College Board for students in grades 8-12 to help prepare them for a successful transition to college. This group of assessments includes the PSAT 8/9, PSAT/NMSQT and the SAT.

Each test measures the same skills and knowledge in ways that make sense for different grade levels. It also allows students, parents and educators to monitor progress.

Khan Academy, the official SAT practicing website, offers FREE practice exercises, instructional videos and a personalized learning dashboard that empower students to study for these assessments at their own pace inside and outside of the classroom.

During Advisory class, the Freshman students created their account in Khan Academy and The College Board. If a student was absent on the day(s) that the Khan Academy account sign-up took place, they may create one at home or they may wait until the next opportunity at school to create an account. If they already have an active Khan Academy account, then they do not need to create a new one.

To create an account, students can visit Khan Academy. They will need their email address, their date of birth, create username and a unique password.

Once accounts have been created in the Khan Academy and the College Board, the programs can be linked together. The College Board will share a student’s result from the SAT Suite of Assessments with Khan Academy. The Khan Academy can then tailor SAT practice lessons to the student’s needs. Teachers can also create accounts that link to a student’s account to support student learning and success.

If you have any questions, please contact one of the Freshman administrators or counselors.
