Broken Arrow Public Schools teacher Amanda Bowser selected as State Teacher of the Year finalist

The Oklahoma State Department of Education named Broken Arrow Public Schools Rosewood Elementary teacher Mrs. Amanda Bowser as one of 10 finalists in the search for the 2024 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year.

“Mrs. Amanda Bowser is the epitome of dedication, service and excellence in education,” Rosewood Elementary Principal Nate Hutchings. “Her commitment, passion and love for teaching her students is a light and inspiration for so many. I consider Mrs. Bowser to be an irreplaceable educator leaving a life changing impact on her students each year. All of her Rosewood family are so very proud of her accomplishment as a top 10 finalist for State Teacher of the Year.”

After being named the 2023 District Teacher of the Year for Broken Arrow Public Schools, Bowser was then selected as a State Teacher of the Year finalist. Her academic portfolio was reviewed by a panel of educators, lawmakers and civic leaders to secure the honor.

“I have come to strongly believe that what encompasses an outstanding teacher can be summed up in one word: Love,” Bowser said. “Love is pushing them, bending them to their growing point, but not letting them break. Love is high-fives each morning and hugs that linger until they let go first. It is recognizing the impact of a simple moment. Love knows each child’s success is not measured merely by a test. The most outstanding teachers I have ever known are the ones who love in the most incredible ways because they know love is the only thing that never fails.”

The 2024 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year will be named this summer.
